Have you accidentally deleted the "Show Desktop" symbol from your Quick Launch Toolbar? Then read how to restore the file here.

First, open the following folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\UNAME\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch Replace "UNAME" with your user name. In this folder, you will generate a text file. Use Notepad or another text editor for this.

The file must contain the following lines:

[Shell]

Command=2

IconFile=explorer.exe,3

[Taskbar]

Command=ToggleDesktop

Save the file under the name ShowDesktop.scf. Then it will be available on the Quick Launch task bar again.

It’s even easier if you simply download the file attached to this tip and copy it into the folder.
